How Does Hyperhidrosis Treatment Work?

Botox injections can be a very effective excessive sweating treatment. People typically experience a reduction of sweating by 85-90%.

Excessive sweating caused by hyperhidrosis is caused by overactive nerve fibres stimulating the sweat glands. Botox injections block this action which reduces the amount of sweating.

Preparing for Hyperhidrosis Treatment

Before your appointment, we will give you all the information you’ll need to know to prepare. There are a few key things to remember to limit bruising intensity and redness after your treatment.

Avoid drinking any alcohol for at least 24 hours before your injections, and don’t take any blood-thinning medications.

Before treatment, we will perform an assessment to ensure your excessive sweating treatment is appropriate. Please bring a list of all your medications and past medical history.

The cost of reedemable consultations (where indicated) may be deducted from the cost of treatments or products within three months.

For best results, other treatments or a package of treatments may be recommended - pricing will be discussed prior to treatment.

Consultations with a Dermatologist may be reimbursible by your health insurance company, if the consultation is related to a medical condition. Please check with your insurance company to confirm.

Post treatment care for Hyperhidrosis Treatment

To ensure you get the best results possible from your excessive sweating treatment, we recommend that you avoid doing any exercise for at least 3 hours after the procedure.

We also recommend that you don’t put any pressure on the botox injection sites for at least 24 hours. Avoid using a spa, sauna, tanning booth, or lying down for at least 4 hours.

Your health care provider will walk you through everything you need to know for the best aftercare of your treatment.

Some side effects you can experience afterwards can include minor bruising, pain, or tenderness around injection sites. This should reduce after a few hours, but in the rare event that they linger, please contact us.
